My niece decided she wanted to take her friends on a photoshoot for her birthday and I glady obliged!!! Loved capturing their beauty and energy and especially their friendship. High School is such a whirlwind it was nice to spend an evening just celebrating them We chased the sun all the way to Dundee to capture these fun images and were rewarded with a rainbow by the end of the session!! My job is the best. I just love capturing the personalities and beauty of these young ladies.
Enjoy! If you'd like to book your own "Friends" or Individual sessions give me a call!
With a heavy heart I update Chad's story here tonight. He has touched more people in his 5 short years here on this planet than most do when given 90 years... Please continue to pray for Tammi and Jason, for his brothers, his extended family, for a cure for this horrible disease, and a cure for all childhood cancers. No families should have to go thru what the Carrs have, but they have truly walked this path with Grace, Courage, and most of all an unwavering Faith. May Jesus wrap His arms around the Carrs, as well as Chad tonight. May it be well with our souls...
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
January 13, 2015:
I thought since little Chad is starting his clinical trial tomorrow it would be good to get this out tonight so that his prayer warriors can remember once again to pray for him and for his family.
If you don't know Chad's story, he is the son of a friend of mine and was diagnosed this fall with DIPG, which is an inoperable brain tumor. He has already been through radiation and came thru that like a champ, it was successful in reducing the tumor by 90%. He still has a fight to fight though and is in New York City this week to have surgery in a clinical trial at Sloan Kettering. To read more about his story his Mom is better with words than I am... https://www.facebookstories.com/stories/117197/chad-tough
Just before he started his radiation we were able to do a photoshoot for his family, and this was the result. We were blessed with a beautiful fall day and a beautiful location thanks to some great friends. For me it was such a gift to be able to watch and capture this family interacting with one another, in the moment, happy, loving, enjoying each little hug, laugh and even some pretty flowers, and their new puppy Tootie. One of the most moving experiences I have had in my career, to watch and capture this little victor, his brave brothers, and parents get ready to fight the fight of their lives. I am praying that these images will be cherished memories for them for a very long time as a reminder of the start of a winning battle. So please if you are seeing these, say a prayer for Chad and for his family, for the doctors and nurses as they care for him and the other patients fighting childhood cancer, and share with your friends and ask them to pray, as they move into this next step in the treatment of this disease.

I have been blessed to be able to photograph these kids for 3 years now and every time it is so much fun. I love watching them interact with each other, and watching their personalities come out at each new session. This fall they came to see me at my One Room Schoolhouse Studio, and they even brought their new pal Huck! Their super cute vintage inspired outfits were the best for our afternoon at the studio. Here are a few my favorite images from the session... enjoy!
Finally getting around to catching up on blogging some of the sessions that I did this summer and I am starting with this one... this family is amazing, I am truly blessed to call them my friends and I hope that you can see thru the images what a wonderful family they are. They have so much love for one another, and it just shines wherever they go. That sounds so cliche and just like something that everyone might write, but I am much better at pictures than words. My friend Sarah is the one with the beautiful words... but here are the images, I hope you can get just a glimpse of how special they are from my little point of view. Thank you Sarah, Tim, Mattie and Jonah for being fantastic friends, beautiful people, and for sharing with the world what love looks like!
I have known this family for what seems like a lifetime, and when Mike contacted me to let me know that he and Amanda were engaged I was super excited to get to photograph another wedding for this fun group of people. I photographed Amandas sister just last year and when Mike and Amanda asked me to photograph their big day I was thrilled. Their fall day was just gorgeous, full of love, family and joy (oh and a few mosquitoes... it is Michigan after all). Thanks to the Morrison and Konarske families for such a beautiful day to photograph. If you or someone you know is planning a wedding in Southeast Michigan or anywhere (I travel!) I'd love to hear from you.
